Williams will be a junior next season for the Lady Tigers. The St. Louis, Mo., native played two seasons of junior college basketball at Moberly CC in Missouri.

During her first season at Moberly, Williams posted 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds a game was and an honorable mention All-American selection.

Moberly posted a 56-15 record in Williams two seasons, including two regional championships and two appearances in the NJCAA National Tournament.

Williams played high school basketball at Gateway Technological High in St. Louis and was a teammate of current LSU track and field performer Kathryn Coleman. In high school, Williams averaged 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds as a senior.

“Mesha’s ability to play both the 4 and 5 position will not only add depth to the post position, but her ability to rebound, defend, and score will further compliment our existing players,” said LSU’s Chatman.

Williams completed LSU’s signing class that also includes high school All-Americans Allison Hightower from Arlington, Texas, and Porsha Phillips from Stone Mountain, Ga.
