Former Lady Tiger Augustus Pours in 30 in First WNBA Scrimmage

PHOENIX — Seimone Augustus, the most decorated women’s basketball player in LSU history, scored 30 points in her first action of her WNBA career on Sunday night in Minnesota’s 96-90 overtime loss to Phoenix in a scrimmage.

Augustus, the 2005-06 NCAA National Player of the Year for the Lady Tigers and the first pick of the 2006 WNBA draft, started for the Lynx on Sunday night and posted her 30 points on 14-27 shooting in 38 minutes of play. She asl ograbbed six rebounds, has one steals, one assist and blocked a shot.

Minnesota official begins its preseason exhibition schedule on Saturday against Seattle. The WNBA’s regular season gets underway on Saturday, May 20. The Lynx open the season on Tuesday, May 23 against Connecticut.
