OXFORD, Miss. — Friday’s LSU-Ole Miss baseball game has been postponed due to heavy rain in the Oxford area. The teams will now play a doubleheader (two nine-inning games) beginning at 1 p.m. CDT Saturday. There will be a 45-minute break between the two games.
Game 3 of the series will be played at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, as originally scheduled.
Freshman right-hander Louis Coleman (4-2, 3.78 ERA) is scheduled to start Game 1 on the mound for LSU Saturday while junior left-hander Clay Dirks (3-3, 4.26 ERA) will start Game 2.
Junior right-hander Derik Olvey (6-2, 2.91 ERA) is the Tigers’ scheduled starter for Sunday’s series finale.
LSU (26-13, 6-9 SEC), ranked No. 18 this week in the USA Today/ESPN poll, is tied for fifth place in the SEC Western Division standings, one game behind fourth-place Ole Miss (23-15, 7-8).
