AUBURN, Ala. — The 16th-ranked LSU men’s tennis will try to keep its six match SEC winning streak alive when it travels to Auburn on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match with the Plainsmen.
LSU (15-6, 7-2 SEC) is fresh off a near loss Friday at Alabama and will look to avoid the same pitfalls when it faces Auburn.
Auburn (11-8, 3-6 SEC) dropped its third consecutive match Friday to Arkansas but features solid singles and doubles lineups.
“This is one of our bigger rivals within the conference,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “It seems like we always have a war with them every time we play.”
The match will be extremely important for LSU, which is looking to maintain its SEC West lead going into its final two matches. The Tigers beat Auburn twice last season, including a 6-1 win in Baton Rouge and a 4-2 victory in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.
LSU will conclude its regular season at No. 55 Arkansas on April 15.
