BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team (13-6, 6-2 SEC) moved up three spots to No. 16 in latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings released Tuesday.

The Tigers have won five matches in a row and are coming off of a four match SEC home stand that saw them pick up wins over top 10-ranked Ole Miss and Florida and shutout South Carolina and Mississippi State.

Individuals rankings were released Tuesday as well. LSU’s No. 1 singles player Ken Skupski moved up one spot to 21st. Skupski has won six straight matches and his win against Mississippi State’s Ivan Bjelica on Sunday moved him to No. 20 on LSU’s all-time wins list.

Tiger sophomore Colt Gaston snuck into the rankings at No. 100. Gaston was hampered earlier in the season by an ankle injury but has returned to full form in his last four matches, including a straight set win over 40th-ranked Eric Claesson of Ole Miss on Saturday.

Skupski and doubles partner Mark Growcott moved up to No. 9 and back into the top 10 for the first time since January. LSU’s No. 2 doubles duo of Gaston and team captain Danny Bryan moved down to 25th in the doubles poll despite having won their last six matches.

LSU will play its last regular season home match Wednesday, when the Tigers will finish their weather-delayed match from March 20 against in state rival UL-Lafayette.
