BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 11 LSU (27-14) continues a seven-game road stretch at 7 p.m. CT Tuesday when the Tigers face Tulane (20-21) at Turchin Stadium in New Orleans.

Tuesday’s game will be televised by the CBS Sports Network (Cox Cable Ch. 1295).
The game is the second this season between LSU and Tulane. The Green Wave posted a 7-6 win over LSU on March 28 in Baton Rouge, marking their third straight victory over the Tigers.
LSU leads Tulane, 180-129-3, in a series that began with the first intercollegiate athletic event in LSU history, a 10-8 victory for the Tiger baseball squad over Tulane in 1893. LSU has won 13 of its 19 meetings with Tulane over the past 10 seasons, though the Green Wave have won three in a row over the Tigers.

LSU began its road stretch last weekend with a three-game SEC series at Kentucky, and after the contest at Tulane, the Tigers will play an SEC series at Alabama beginning on Thursday night.
“This is a game our team wants to win very badly, and we’ll go out there and play as hard as we can,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “Tulane has been playing really well, so we know this is going to be a very challenging game in a tough environment. We’re in the middle of a seven-game road stretch, and nothing comes easy in college baseball. Our players know when they come to LSU, they’re going to be challenged, and that’s why they come here.”
LSU is No. 3 in the SEC in team batting average (.293), trailing only Kentucky (.315) and Arkansas (.296). The LSU hitters also have the fewest number of strikeouts in the league (244).
LSU junior rightfielder Greg Deichmann is No. 2 in the league in home runs (13), RBI (46) and total bases (101), and senior shortstop Kramer Robertson is No. 2 in the league in runs scored with 46.
Senior second baseman Cole Freeman is fourth in the SEC in stolen bases (11), and he’s No. 8 in the league in on-base percentage (.454). Freeman led LSU at the plate in the Kentucky series last weekend, batting .455 (5-for-11) with one double and two RBI. He was also hit by three pitches and posted a .571 on-base percentage.
Junior first baseman Nick Coomes had four hits in the Kentucky series, including a solo home run, and he collected four RBI. Coomes also extended his current hitting streak to 11 games.
Freshman centerfielder Zach Watson also had four hits in the series – including a triple – and he extended his current hitting streak to 15 games, the longest by an LSU player this season.
Tulane is batting .266 as a team this season, and the Green Wave have belted 45 home runs. First baseman Hunter Williams is batting .363 with 15 doubles, one triple, eight homers and 31 RBI. Outfielder Jarret DeHart has 11 doubles, eight homers and 36 RBI, while infielder Hunter Hope has seven doubles, eight homers and 18 RBI.
