Thoughts from Coach Brown
“Mississippi State is another challenge, and something we look forward to facing Sunday,” head coach Jeff Brown said.

The Matchup
LSU has a 47-22-1 all-time record against Mississippi State. Last season, the Tigers and the Bulldogs split meetings 1-1. LSU and Mississippi State squared off at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, in a non-conference meeting, and the Tigers opened the 2016 season with a 4-1 win. In conference play, Mississippi State took a 4-2 victory in Baton Rouge.

Tiger Tidbits
LSU is currently on a four-match win streak, dating back to Sunday when the Tigers started off the day with a win against Ole Miss and followed sweeping a double-header against Jackson State. The momentum from those matches carried into Friday’s contest against No. 50 Auburn, where the Tigers notched the doubles point, and No. 76 Justin Butsch clinched the match on court two.

Butsch and partner Jordan Daigle are listed at No. 35 in the nation in the ITA doubles rankings, and the pair took a massive ranked win against No. 15 Max Hinnisdaels and Conner Huertas.

The Tigers have another duo in the doubles rankings with No. 90 Julian Saborio and Gabor Csonka. The court two mainstay notched a quick 6-0 victory at Auburn.

Daigle is ranked in singles at No. 44 and has competed on court one in each match this season, holding a 9-4 record overall with five wins against ranked opponents.

Nikola Samardzic is currently riding a four-match win streak. The sophomore extended the streak and notched his team-high 23rd singles victory with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court four at Auburn.

Notes on Mississippi State
The Bulldogs are third in the league and hold a 16-5 record overall and sit 7-2 in the conference.
Mississippi State is coming off of a 4-3 win against No. 7 Texas A&M on Friday.

Nuno Borges is sits at No. 4 in the ITA singles rankings, and Strahinja Rakic is listed at No. 122.

The Bulldogs have a pair in the doubles rankings with No. 21 Trevor Foshey and Niclas Braun.
