Men's Tennis Duo Falls in NCAA Round of 16

TULSA, Okla. – LSU men’s tennis pair Jordan Daigle and Boris Arias fell to 13th-ranked Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim, 6-4, 6-4, of Wake Forest Friday in the NCAA Doubles Championships Round of 16 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

With the loss, Arias concluded his LSU career with a 69-55 doubles record and a 72-55 singles record, and the sixth-ranked duo ended their season with a 16-11 record overall after advancing to their second-straight NCAA Round of 16.

“We played two similar sets,” said head coach Jeff Brown. “We were broken early, and the Wake Forest team had huge serves. We only had one break point in the entire match, so credit to them.”

Arias and Daigle were named ITA All-Americans in their second-straight season, marking the 22 and 23 All-Americans during Brown’s tenure and the first time in LSU history that a pair earned honors in back-to-back years.

“Boris and Jordan have been a great doubles team, ending their careers as two-time All-Americans together,” Brown said. “Boris will start his pro career in two weeks, and Jordan will look to become a three or four-time All-American next year.”

In their two seasons as a pair, Arias and Daigle notched 30 career wins with three victories against the No. 1 team in the nation. The duo also tallied seven wins against top-20 opponents.

Mansouri and Seraphim (23-14) will advance to face Texas A&M’s Arthur Rinderknech and Jackson Withrow who defeated Texas Tech’s Hugo Dojas and Felipe Soares, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (13).
