BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 33 LSU men’s tennis team (14-9, 5-6 SEC) finishes out the regular season schedule facing No. 11 Texas A&M (23-7, 7-3 SEC) in a 6 p.m. matchup Friday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
“We are excited to get back out on the court and play another strong opponent,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “With the way we’ve been playing recently, we are excited to see where we are and keep improving, building and going into the right direction.”
After two SEC wins on the road, the Tigers will face the No. 11 team, carrying a top-20 victory against Kentucky in their Sunday match.
LSU holds two ranked singles players in No. 48 Jordan Daigle and No. 102 Justin Butsch. Daigle with partner Boris Arias also make up the No. 9 duo in the country.
The Aggies took a 5-2 win against Tennessee Sunday in Knoxville where their court one standout, Arthur Rinderknech clinched. Rinderknech leads A&M in rankings at No. 16 along with Shane Vinsant, who is ranked 52nd. Rinderknech and partner Jackson Withrow come together to make up one of Texas A&M’s four ranked doubles pairs at No. 19.
Rinderknech is also raked 49th with Shane Vinsant as a partner. Vinsant appears in another ranked duo as well at No. 52, accompanied by partner AJ Catanzariti. Finishing out the Aggies’ raked duos, Jordi Arconada and Max Lunkin rest at No. 63.
Friday marks a busy day in College Station for the Texas A&M and LSU tennis teams. The Lady Tigers take on the Aggies at 2:30 p.m. followed by the men’s match at 6 p.m.
