Block Party Near Tiger Stadium for Spring Game

BATON ROUGE – Fans coming to campus for the National L Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s on Saturday, April 16 will want to arrive early as the athletic department will host a block party on North Stadium drive prior to kickoff.

The LSU Football Block Party, which will be a free event, starts at 1 p.m. on North Stadium Drive and will feature popular local band Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters along with carnival activities for the kids. There will be a dunking booth, inflatables along with all types of food.

Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters will play from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on North Stadium Drive at the bottom of Victory Hill.

The Block Party will also feature giveaways from corporate partners of the LSU Athletic Department. For entry forms to register for some great giveaway items, visit Baton Rouge area McDonald’s, T.J. Ribs, Tio Javi’s, Academy Sport + Outdoor, and select Chevron gas stations. Fans will be able to submit their entry forms as they enter the stadium for the spring game on April 16.

Prizes include: 18 Tony Chachere’s prize packs, 4 $100 gift cards from Tio Javi’s and $50 gift cards to LSUshop.net. There will also be tickets given away to LSU sporting events.

Kickoff for the National L Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Tiger Stadium and admission to the game is free. The game will be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network and can be heard in Baton Rouge on 104.5 and 104.9 FM as well as in the Geaux Zone on www.LSUsports.net/live. The game will also be broadcast on the SEC Network.
