BATON ROUGE, La. – On Thursday afternoon, the Southeastern Conference announced its broadcast plans for the 2015 volleyball season, with LSU slated to appear nine times nationally this season between the SEC Network and ESPNU.
Beginning with league play in September, the Tigers’ nine games this season are a part of a total of 50 the two networks will air over the course of the season, with that number being greater than any previous season since the debut of the league’s network last August.
Wednesday night will be the premier night for the sport as for 10 consecutive weeks beginning on September 23 the SEC will be showcased in a network doubleheader on both networks, with the SEC Network airing either one or two games every Sunday beginning September 13.
LSU will be one of the first teams featured on Wednesday night, hosting the Arkansas Razorbacks at 8 p.m. on ESPNU September 23. The Tigers hit the road for an evening match against Auburn slated for the SEC Network at 5 p.m. on the SEC Network.
October opens up with an 8 p.m. date with the Tennessee Volunteers in the PMAC on the seventh, before hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide at 2 p.m. on the SEC Network on the 18th. One of the most thrilling matches of last season reprises with a contest against the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station to close the month at 7 p.m. on SECN.
The SEC Network will cover the stretch run for LSU in the final month of the season in November, opening on the eighth with a match against Missouri at home, before consecutive games on the road at Arkansas and Ole Miss. The highlight match of the season comes on November 20, as LSU hosts 2014 regular-season champ Florida at 5 p.m. in Baton Rouge.
Each of LSU’s nine SEC televised games can be viewed online and through mobile devices through WatchESPN and the WatchESPN app, which features SEC Network+. Additional school-produced events, available on SEC Network + via WatchESPN, will be announced at a later date.
