“This is certainly shapes up to be a big week for us, and our focus right now is completely on the Tulane game,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “They have a very talented team under an excellent first-year coach in David Pierce, and we know they will play their best against us. Our goal is to continue to play as well as we can every day, because each game carries a lot of meaning. There are only 15 games left in the regular season, and it’s very important that we play well over this final stretch.
Mainieri said that freshman right-hander Austin Bain (0-1, 3.29 ERA) will start the game on the mound for the Tigers. Tulane will counter with junior right-hander Patrick Duester (4-3, 1.85 ERA).

Scivicque is the second-leading hitter in the SEC, batting .404 (55-for-136) on the year with 13 doubles, five homers, 32 RBI and 22 runs.
