BATON ROUGE – Tiger senior Ade Alleyne-Forte has realized his Olympic dream after being selected Friday as a member of Trinidad & Tobago’s 4×400-meter relay pool as he was chosen among 26 athletics representatives announced by Trinidad’s National Association of Athletics Associations.

Alleyne-Forte took home a sixth-place finish while running a personal record of 46.13 seconds in the 400-meter final at the 2012 Sagicor National Open Championships held June 24-25 in Port-of-Spain.

He joins a trio of fellow LSU Track & Field alumni on Trinidad & Tobago’s Olympic squad as reigning Olympic silver medalist Richard Thompson (100 meters, 4×100 relay), reigning World Championships bronze medalist Kelly-Ann Baptiste (100 meters, 4×100 relay), and All-American sprinter Semoy Hackett (100 meters, 200 meters, 4×100 relay) have also earned their ticket to London.

The athletics competition at the 2012 Olympic Games is scheduled to run from Aug. 3-12 in London with LSU Track & Field being represented by seven athletes as of Saturday morning.

In addition to LSU’s quartet competing for Trinidad & Tobago, 2008 Olympic finalist Lolo Jones is ready to make her return for the United States in the 100-meter hurdles, while Nickiesha Wilson will compete in the 400-meter hurdles for Jamaica and Neisha Bernard-Thomas will run the 800 meters for Grenada. LSU is poised to add to its Olympics roster as team trials continue in Jamaica and the United States.
