BATON ROUGE – Former LSU and NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal will be back in town this year to host his annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, Aug. 31, at Carter Plantation.
The tournament is again being held on the Friday before LSU’s first home football game in Tiger Stadium on Sat., Sept. 1, against North Texas.
The tournament raises funds for the Shaquille O’Neal Life Skills Program which prepares student-athletes for life after college by focusing on five areas: academic excellence, athletic excellence, community service, personal development and career development.
Shaq will be present at the tournament to meet all participants and take a photo with them. Foursomes are available for $1,000 with a choice of either playing in the 8 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. shot-gun starts. Participants receive a round of golf, a meal before and after play, a photo opportunity with O’Neal, an awards ceremony, silent auction, t-shirt, and Diddy bag.
There are also several levels of sponsorship from presenting sponsor, awards and meal sponsor all the way to hole sponsorship.
For more information on sponsorship or to register golfers for the event contact the Shaquille O’Neal Life Skills Office at 225-578-0385.
