BATON ROUGE – Brittany Mack and Tiffany Shaw represented the LSU softball program on the Capital One Academic All-District VI Second Team Friday as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America [CoSIDA].

It marks the second straight season that Mack has earned the award. The junior right-hander joins Tara Asbill, Leigh Ann Danos, Stephanie Hill and Kristin Schmidt as the only Tigers to earn the honor multiple times during their career.

Mack has posted a 16-5 mark and a staff-low 1.78 ERA. She has lowered her ERA by a 1.65 ratio and has won 11 of her last 13 decisions since March 19. The Round Rock, Texas, native has secured three SEC Pitcher of the Week awards on the season. She has racked up seven or more Ks during seven of her last nine starts dating back to April 8.

Shaw paces the squad with 38 hits en route to 10 multi-hit performances after spending her first three season being used primarily as a pinch runner. She is second on the team with a .284 hitting clip and her 16 stolen bases are tied for 11th in the SEC. LSU has won 18 of 20 games this season when Shaw bats at the bottom of the order.

LSU and South Carolina conclude the regular season with a weekend series at Tiger Park. Live audio and live stats for all three games of the series will be available in the Geaux Zone on LSUsports.net in addition to being carried live on ESPN 104.5 FM with Patrick Wright and Kent Lowe calling the action.

CST will televise Friday and Saturday’s contests with Lyn Rollins and Cheri Kempf serving as the announcing team. In-game updates are provided via the program’s social media pages at www.Facebook.com/lsusoftball and www.Twitter.com/LSU_Softball.

The Tiger Park Ticket Booth opens 90 minutes prior to first pitch each day. Fans can purchase tickets on-site starting at $5 for adult general admission. Tickets also are available online at www.LSUtix.net.
