Caldwell discussed taking over a well respected and accomplished LSU program.
“When you look at what this program was built on, it was built on hard work, having great leaders and eager followers, and it was built on people caring about each other,” said Caldwell. “We are going to carry those intangibles of the game that don’t necessarily show up in the stat sheet. We are going to get this team back to playing for SEC Championships and ultimately, playing for national championships.”
Caldwell was named the school’s seventh women’s basketball head coach last week and she arrives at LSU as one of the elite coaches in the game. A proven winner as a player and assistant at Tennessee, she also turned UCLA into a national power in three years as the Bruins head coach.
