Athletics Marketing Wins Three NACMA Awards

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Marketing and Promotions department picked up a trio of national awards at the annual National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) convention.

LSU’s three awards tied with California, Iowa State and Tennessee for second place in the nation only behind Kansas State’s four honors. It marked the second consecutive year that LSU has won three awards.

“It’s always nice to be recognized by NACMA for our efforts,” assistant AD for Marketing Craig Pintens said. “Andy Rowdon, Tom Harlukowicz, Daniel Nunes and the rest of our staff have done an excellent job and are very deserving. We will continue to strive for creative ways to engage the best fan base in the country.”

LSU took home silver medals in sponsorship program, single newspaper display ad and ticket sales piece.

The sponsorship program award spotlighted LSU Sports Properties’ Team LSU partner the Super Chevy Dealers, focusing on the Chevy Tailgaters of the Game during football, the sponsorship of the Van Wagon during women’s basketball and the paper airplane toss at Pack the PMAC.

The single newspaper display ad featured men’s basketball player Storm Warren. Copy was provided by Foundry Advertising and graphics by LSU Publications.

The ticket sales piece highlighted LSU’s mini-plan packages. This was designed with assistance from DME.

The awards were presented as part of the 19th annual NACMA convention in Anaheim, Calif., last week.
