BATON ROUGE – LSU incoming freshman gymnast Sarie Morrison appeared in the May 24 issue of Sports Illustrated in the “Faces in the Crowd” section.
SI featured Morrison, a native of Dallas, Texas, for completing a rare sweep of titles at the Texas state meet in April.
Morrison and her teammates at Lake Highlands High School won the team state title, and Morrison captured the all-around crown for the third straight year. She also took home the vault, bars, beam and floor titles after winning the team competition to complete the sweep.
Training at Elite Champion in Plano, Morrison has competed as a Level 10 gymnast since dropping back from an international elite competitor in 2007.
Morrison is a J.O. National qualifier, and she is a two-time Dallas Morning News All-Area Girl Gymnast of the Year.
She will compete as a freshman for the Tigers next season.
