SAVANNAH, Ga. — LSU sophomore women’s golfer Alexis Rather won her first match Tuesday in the Women’s Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship at The Landings Club of Deer Creek Course.
Rather is representing the Pontotoc Country Club in her hometown of Tupelo, Miss.
Rather, the 10th seed in the 18-hole qualifying on Monday after shooting a 1-over par 73 beat Tarah McNaughton of Gainesville, Fla., 3 and 2, in the opening round advancing her to the round of 16 scheduled for Wednesday.
