Runion Named to SEC’s Good Works Team

BATON ROUGE — Sophomore Garrett Runion has been named to the second-annual Southeastern Conference Men’s Golf Good Works Team as announced by the league office.

Runion is one of 11 student-athletes named to the team, which includes one member from each school except Arkansas. The Orlando, Fla., native is a member of the LSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, teaches golf lessons to area children and helps coordinate the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and Christmas Toy Drive.

Runion also helps coordinate the annual Halloween BOOzar, which gives local children the opportunity to trick-or-treat and participate in games and activities with LSU student-athletes.

Runion has competed in nine tournaments this season for the Tigers with a 75.81 stroke average in 27 rounds. He fired the second best round of the season in the SEC this season in the second round of the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate with a 6-under par 65.
