BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team moved up for the second consecutive week in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s weekly poll as they prepare for a top-20 showdown tomorrow with Tulane.
The Tigers (16-7, 4-6 SEC) are ranked 15th, while the Green Wave fell a spot to 18th. The 4 p.m. match will be the first top-20 match at home this season for LSU.
LSU moved up one spot after beating both Auburn and Alabama this weekend.
The top-25 was again stuffed with Southeastern Conference teams. Ole Miss moved to third in the nation while Florida and Georgia were No. 7 and No. 10, respectively. Kentucky was 12th, South Carolina was 17th, Mississippi State was 20th and Tennessee was 23rd.
New individual rankings were not released. The Tigers currently have two singles players and three doubles players listed in the national polls.
LSU also faces Arkansas Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
