Lady Tigers Have Busy First Day at Final Four

INDIANPOLIS — LSU’s Lady Tigers basketball team had a busy but fun first full day at the 2005 NCAA Final Four on Friday.

The day began with an interview session and photo shoot with ESPN in the RCA Dome. The entire team was used for a tease shoot for the open of the Final Four games. ESPN will carry both the national semifinal games on Sunday and the national championship game on Tuesday.

A one and a half hour practice at nearby Butler University followed for the team. Butler’s gym, Hinkle Fieldhouse, was the site used to film the movie “Hoosiers.”

The evening was filled with celebration as the NCAA hosted the Salute Dinner to honor the four teams that also include Michigan State, Baylor and Tennessee.

The dinner included a highlight video for each team’s road to Indianapolis and a question and answer session between the hosts Debbie Antonelli and Beth Mowins and members of each team.

LSU’s head coach Pokey Chatman and senior point guard Temeka Johnson represented the Lady Tigers on stage.

The Lady Tigers, as well as the other three teams, will hold open practices in the RCA Dome on Saturday, as well as meet with the media. LSU’s practice begins at 10 a.m. CST and will last one hour.
