Tigers Move up to No. 11 in Latest ITA Poll

BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team moved up two spots to No. 11 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll released Tuesday.

The Tigers (11-3, 3-3) split matches over the weekend with a 5-2 loss Friday to fourth-ranked Ole Miss and a 6-1 win Sunday over 26th-ranked Mississippi State. LSU is currently second in the SEC West behind Ole Miss. The Rebels lead the entire league with a 7-0 conference mark.

LSU is ranked third among SEC teams, behind Ole Miss and No. 10 Georgia. Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Arkansas are also ranked among the top-25.

New individual rankings were not released this week. LSU’s Ken Skupski was ranked 28th in singles in last week’s poll. Bryan Fisher and Jason Hazley were ranked 23rd in doubles and Skupski and Peter Richman were 34th.

LSU faces SEC Western Division rivals Auburn and Alabama on the road this weekend.
