BATON ROUGE — Three LSU student-athletes were recently among 34 undergraduate students selected by the University College, the Honors College and the senior colleges as LSU’s Outstanding Students.
Rodney Reed, a three-year starter at offensive tackle on the LSU football team, was named the outstanding senior in the E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration. Reed, a First Team Academic All-America in 2002, has a 3.9 grade point average in accounting. Reed, a native of West Monroe, La., graduates later this month and will enter graduate school in the fall.
Reed, who has started 34 straight games for the Tigers, is a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Marina Degtva, a member of the LSU gymnastics team from 1999-2002, was named the outstanding junior in the College of Art and Design. Degtva, a two-time Academic All-America, was a key member of LSU’s NCAA Central Regional championship team in 2002.
Margaret Anne Moore, a member of LSU’s women’s swimming and diving team, earned the outstanding sophomore honor from the College of Education. Moore, a native of Laurel, Miss., was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll this year.
