BATON ROUGE — LSU diving coach Doug Shaffer announced the signing of four divers on Friday, as the Tigers signed three athletes from the state of Washington and one Louisiana native.
LSU signed Andrew Keane, Alyson Carlyon, Hali Saucier, and Adam Hebert, with the first three all being from Washington, and Hebert hailing from Denham Springs, La. These are the first four commitments in LSU’s 2003 class.
Keane is a native of Normandy Park, Wash., and attends Mt. Rainer high school. He was a Junior Olympic National competitor and plans to major in pre-law. Carlyon is a native of Kirkland, Wash., and attends Juanita high school. She was the 2002 state champion in the 1-meter diving competition and a junior national finalist. She plans on majoring in kinesiology.
Saucier is a native of Gig Harbor, Wash., and attends Peninsula high school. She was the state runner-up in the 1-meter this season and a junior national qualifier. She plans to major in sports medicine. Hebert attends Walker high school and was a junior and senior national participant. He plans on majoring in electrical engineering.
“As a coach we set our work environment with the athlete’s that we recruit,” said Shaffer. “This is a very talented group of men and women both academically and athletically. They will make an immediate impact and we cannot wait until September,” said Shaffer.
