BATON ROUGE — LSU hurdler Lolo Jones was named the SEC’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, in was announced Wednesday by the conference office.
The junior from Des Moines, Iowa, was honored after being named the Texas Relays’ Most Outstanding Female Performer this past weekend.
Just three weeks removed from winning the NCAA Indoor title in the 60-meter hurdles, Jones made her season debut in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a world leading and meet record-tying time of 12.90 seconds to win the meet title.
In addition, the six-time All-American ran the third leg on the Lady Tigers’ 4×100-meter relay team that not only won the event title, but did it in world leading and meet record setting time.
Jones and the rest of the LSU track and field team returns to action this weekend, April 11-12, when it host the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
