Coryell, Latz Receive Post-Graduate Scholarships

BATON ROUGE — LSU senior swimmer Martin Latz and senior diver Michelle Coryell were each recently nominated for the prestigious H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Award and will receive a $5,000 post-graduate scholarship award next month.

Latz, a senior with a 3.4 gpa in information systems and decision sciences, and Coryell, a kinesiology major with a 3.8 gpa, will both graduate in May and will attend graduate school at the institution of their choice in the fall. The H. Boyd McWhorter award is the highest academic honor that a student-athlete in the SEC can receive.

Latz is a four-year letterwinner and a member of the 2001-02 SEC Academic Honor Roll while Coryell, a 2001 All-American, was also a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll in both 2001 and 2002.
