BATON ROUGE — LSU’s third-ranked women’s basketball team, the No. 1 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament, are set to battle sixth-ranked and No. 5 seed Louisiana Tech in the regional semifinal game at 6 p.m. CST in Stanford University’s Maples Pavilion in Palo Alto, Calif., on Sunday.
The Lady Tigers (29-3) advanced to the “Sweet 16” by defeating Southwest Texas and Wisconsin-Green Bay in the sub-regional in Eugene, Ore., last weekend. The Lady Techsters (31-2) defeated Pepperdine and Ohio State in their own sub-regional in Ruston.
The other regional semifinal game in Palo Alto pits No. 2 seed Texas against No. 6 seed Minnesota at 8:30 p.m. CST. The regional final game is schedule for Tuesday at 8 p.m. CST.
