Football Coaches Clinic Set for March 27-29

BATON ROUGE — Bill Arnsparger, who coached LSU to the 1986 Southeastern Conference title and to a pair of Sugar Bowl appearances, headlines the 2003 LSU Football Coaches Clinic that runs from March 27-29 on the LSU campus.

LSU coach Nick Saban, who has guided the Tigers to three bowl games over the last three seasons, will speak at the clinic at 7 p.m. on Friday with Arnsparger to address the group at 7:30 p.m.

Some of Louisiana’s top high school coaches, as well as prep coaches from Texas, Mississippi and Florida, will also participate in the clinic. Among those coaches with presentations include Cyril Crutchfield (Port Sulphur ), Dennis Dunn (Evangel), Sid Edwards (Redemptorist), Donnie Perron (Port Barre), J.T. Curtis (John Curtis), Wayne Reese (McDonogh #35), Louis Smith (D’Iberville, Miss.), Nigel Dunn (Miami-Norland) and Todd Dodge (Carroll-Texas).

Featured speakers from the LSU coaching staff include offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher, defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, special teams coordinator Derek Dooley, defensive line coach Travis Jones, and offensive line coach Stacy Searels.

The clinic starts at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 with Chalk Talk with the LSU coaching staff in the Lawton Room.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 28 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center with Friday’s portion of the clinic set to begin at 10 a.m. The clinic concludes with the LSU football scrimmage at 1 p.m. in Tiger Stadium on Saturday.
