BROWN SUMMITT, N.C. — The LSU Tigers improved their score by three strokes, but remained in 15th place after the second round of the Bryan National Collegiate women’s golf classic here Saturday.
The Tigers followed a 314 in the first round with a 311 in the second round to stand at 625 after 36 holes of the 54-hole event. Duke is the leader at four-over 580, four shots better than Vanderbilt. Georgia is third at 596.
There is a four-way tie for the individual title after the first two rounds with Nuria Clau of Wake Forest, Kristy McPherson of South Carolina, Courtney Wood and May Wood of Vanderbilt all tied at two-under par 142.
Leigh Anne Hardin of Duke is fifth, also under par at 143.
Isabel Dornellas had the best round of the day for LSU with a 3-over 75, while Vicky Meyer had a 76, Brooke Shelton a 78 and Devon Day the last counting score of 82.
The tournament concludes on Sunday.
