BATON ROUGE — The LSU Athletic Department will be putting on the POWERade Home Run Derby following the third-ranked Tiger softball team’s game against Auburn on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Tiger Park.
The derby will feature a team competition between the purple and gold teams comprised of athletic department staff members, LSU athletes and members of the local media. The pitcher for both teams will be volleyball head coach Fran Flory.
Members of the purple team include Associate Athletics Director Verge Ausberry, volleyball assistant coach Tonya Johnson, football defensive back Ronnie Prude, track thrower Mallory McDonald, athletic trainer Andy Barker, X-104.9’s Fish and Tiger Country’s Devon Adams.
The gold team includes strength coaches Karl Dunbar and Jim Nowell, women’s basketball assistant coach Carla Berry, women’s basketball All-American Temeka Johnson, football wide receiver Reggie Robinson, Eagle 98.1’s Bill Jackson and Jammin’ 107.3’s JC.
