Baggett Signs Free Agent Contact With Chiefs

BATON ROUGE — Former LSU offensive lineman Jason Baggett has signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL club announced on Thursday.

Baggett becomes the 10th Tiger off of last season’s team to either be an NFL draft pick or sign a free agent contract with an NFL team.

Last year, Baggett started all 13 games for the Tigers at offensive tackle, helping LSU to a 10-3 overall mark and its first outright Southeastern Conference title since 1986. Baggett also played a key role in LSU’s 47-34 win over seventh-ranked Illinois in the Sugar Bowl.

For his efforts, the Associated Press named Baggett Second Team All-SEC.

Baggett, a native of Baytown, Texas, played in 32 games during his LSU career with 19 starts.
