BATON ROUGE — The LSU athletics program is currently ranked No. 16 in thenation in the Sears Directors’ Cup, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced on Monday.
The Tigers have accumulated 245 points at the conclusion of the winter standings. The winter standings take into account all fall sports along with indoor track and field, rifle and skiing.
Stanford stands in first place with 645.5 points, while Colorado is second with 481 points.
Of LSU’s 245 points, 100 came for winning the national title in women’s indoor track and field. LSU also gained 83 points for its third place finish in men’s indoor track and field. The Tigers picked up 62 points for their eighth place final national ranking in football.
Last year, LSU finished its athletic year ranked No. 22 in the Sears Directors’ Cup.
