BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Alex Box Stadium was named a host institution for an NCAA Regional Baseball Tournament on May 25-27, as the NCAA announced the 16 host schools for the 2001 season on Monday afternoon.

Ticket books for the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional at Alex Box Stadium go on sale at 8 a.m. Tuesday to LSU baseball season ticket holders.

Regional ticket books will be on sale to LSU season ticket holders through Friday. Tickets may be purchased in person at the LSU athletic administration building, they may be ordered by calling (225) 388-2184, or they may be purchased on the Internet at www.LSUsports.net.

Ticket books, which are good for the entire tournament, are $65 for gold seats and for purple field-level seats, $55 for grandstand seats and $45 for bleacher seats.

Tickets not purchased by LSU season ticket holders will go on sale to the general public on Monday, May 21.

The regional will be held Friday, May 25, through Sunday, May 27, at Alex Box Stadium.

The LSU ticket office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Payments may be made by cash, check, money order, VISA or MasterCard.

Regional parking passes are also available to season ticket holders for $25.

LSU will play host to an NCAA baseball regional for the 12th straight season and for the 13th time overall. Alex Box Stadium has served as a regional site each year since 1990, and the venue also played host to a regional in 1986.
