LSU-Southern Rematch Moved to Alex Box

BATON ROUGE — Tuesday’s LSU-Southern baseball game, originally scheduled for Southern’s Lee-Hines Field, has been moved to LSU’s Alex Box Stadium.

Southern coach Roger Cador informed LSU coach Skip Bertman that Lee-Hines’ playing surface was unplayable, and requested the game be moved across town.

Tuesday’s game will begin at 7 p.m., and all seating will be general admission. The game is not part of the LSU season ticket package.

Tickets for the game will go on sale Monday at 8 a.m. at the LSU athletic ticket office, located on the first floor of the athletic administration building.

Tickets may be purchased in person during business hours on Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or may be purchased over the phone by calling (225) 578-2184. Tickets will also be on sale at the Alex Box Stadium ticket windows beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. LSU and Southern students will be admitted free with a valid student ID.

Tickets for the LSU-Southern game will not be available on LSU’s Internet site, www.lsusports.net. Accepted forms of payment are cash, checks, VISA and MasterCard.

Tuesday’s game will be the second LSU-Southern matchup in one week. The Jaguars defeated the Tigers 11-6 last Tuesday at Alex Box Stadium, giving Southern its first win over its cross-town rivals in 36 tries.

The Tigers have not visited the Southern campus since taking a 14-9 victory on April 18, 1995. All but five LSU-Southern games have been played at Alex Box Stadium.
