BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s golf team travels to Auburn, Ala., Friday to take part in the Billy Hitchcock Invitational.
Hosted by Auburn, the event will be played at the par-72, 6,689 yard Saugahatchee Country Club.
Joining the Tigers in this year’s field will be Alabama, Alabama-Birmingham, Arkansas Auburn, Florida State, Memphis, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Southeastern Louisiana and Tennessee.
The host Auburn Tigers took last year’s team event, shooting a 16-under par 848, while LSU finished a distant 12th. Individually, with defending champion Haymes Snedekar of Ole Miss graduating, the tournament will be assured of a new individual medalist.
The tournament will be played in 54-hole format, with 18 holes Friday, followed by 18 on Saturday and the final 18 holes will be played on Sunday.
