Men’s Golf in Sixth at Alabama Invitational

MONTGOMERY, AL.–The LSU men’s golf team stands in sixth place going into the final day of the Alabama Spring Invitational.

Leading the team tournament is Auburn, who shot a two round team total of 563, which puts them at 13 under-par for the tournament. They are followed by second place Middle Tennessee State, five strokes back at eight under-par 568.

LSU’s team total after two rounds stands at 573, good for three under-par.

Individually, Jon Bartlett of Ole Miss, Roland Thatcher of Auburn, and Matt McWilliams of Middle Tennessee are all tied for the overall lead at six under par. They are followed by LSU’s Jeremy Wilkinson, who sits in fourth place overall after shooting a tournament low round of four under par 68 during the second round.

Also doing well individually for the Tigers is Alan Morgan, who finds himself in a tie for 10th place overall at two under-par 142 with 18 holes to play.

Other Tiger golfers competing included Mike Vallillo, who is tied with teammate Craig Taylor in 52nd position with identical two round totals of five over-par 149. Also participating for the Tigers was Billy Dressler, currently in a tie for 68th position overall after a two round total of 151 at seven over-par.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final 18 holes.
