BATON ROUGE – Senior All-American Ashlee Ducote was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after helping her team to a victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday and two victories over No. 24 Florida on Friday.
“Ashlee is one of those players who lifts your team up to a higher level,” said head coach Glenn Moore. “She is always ready
to play and knows no fear.”
Ducote hit .600 for the week, including a .666 average in two wins over Florida. She was 4-for-6 against Florida and hit her
fifth and sixth home runs of the season. Ducote came across for the Tigers with six RBI and three runs against the conference
opponent.
Overall for the Tigers, Ducote is hitting .443 with 24 runs, 39 hits, nine doubles, two triples, six home runs and 35 RBI. She
has 18 putouts and 57 assists with a fielding percent of .949.
Ducote and the Tigers will travel to Natchitoches on Wednesday to face the Northwestern State Demons and move on to Oxford, Miss., to face SEC opponent Ole Miss Friday and Saturday.
