BATON ROUGE — LSU senior golfer Lisette Lee of Kenner, added another honor to her growing list of post-season awards when she was named Saturday to the GTE Academic All-America team.
Lee was named a first-team All-America on the Women’s University Spring At-Large team which includes athletes in such women’s sports as Lacrosse, Track and Field, Tennis and Crew. The GTE Academic team is a major project of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Lee, one of two golfers on the first team, posted a 3.937 grade point average, majoring in Finance.
The first-team Academic citation is added to her honorable mention All-America choice by the National Golf Coaches Association, the Edith Munson Award for the top scholar-athlete presented by the NGCA and the prestigious Diana Shore Award as golfer of the year presented by the Ladies Professional Golfers Association.
Most recently, she received the Boyd McWhorter post-graduate scholar award at the Southeastern Conference meeting in Destin. That award carries a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship.
