BATON ROUGE — Seniors Jared Bradford and Quinlan Duhon were named LSU Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Week this week.
Both were also named SEC Player of the Week.
Bradford, a senior pitcher from Hueytown, Ala., pitched in all three games of the tigers’ sweep over No.16 Kentucky, earning a win and two saves in under 24 hours. He earned the win in Game 1 with two scoreless frames in a 10-inning, 3-1 victory. He followed the win with a save in the second game after throwing the final four innings of a 12-5 win. Bradford allowed just two hits with no walks and five strikeouts in the first two games combined.
On Sunday, Bradford entered the game in the bottom of the ninth inning after the tigers had come back from a five-run deficit to lead 9-8. He earned his second save of the weekend after allowing one hit and recording one strikeout in the inning as LSU completed the weep over the Wildcats.
Following the sweep, LSU finds itself atop the SEC West Standings with a 12-11-1 conference record.
Baseball next hosts its final regular-season series at Alex Box Stadium against Mississippi State. Game 1 of the series beings Friday at 7:00 p.m.
Duhon, a senior outfielder out of Youngsville, La., posted a .467 average at the plate for the week with two doubles and two home runs. She drove in nine runs during the week and posted a pair of four-RBI games in wins over South Carolina over the weekend. Duhon extended her hitting streak to a career-best nine games and was named second-team All-SEC.
Softball hosts the SEC Tournament this weekend at Tiger Park. LSU, the third seed, will face Auburn on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Bradford pitched in all three games of LSU’s sweep at No. 16 Kentucky last weekend, earning a win and two saves in helping the Tigers extend their win streak to nine games . . . remarkably, Bradford made all three appearances within a 24-hour period as the teams played a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday . . . in Game 1, Bradford entered the contest in the ninth inning with the scored tied 1-1 – he worked two scoreless innings to earn the win as the Tigers posted a 3-1, 10-inning victory . . . Bradford threw 17 pitches, allowing no hits while recording no walks and one strikeout . . . Bradford returned to the mound in Game 2 the same day, pitching the final four innings (46 pitches) to pick up a save in LSU’s 12-5 triumph . . . Bradford blanked the Wildcats — who entered the series as the SEC’s top hitting team with a .325 average — through four innings, allowing just two hits with no walks and four strikeouts . . . Bradford made his third appearance of the series on Sunday, working the final inning (13 pitches) to earn a save in the Tigers’ 9-8 win . . . he pitched a scoreless frame, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout . . . Bradford’s total numbers for the series including 7.0 innings pitched (76 pitches), 0.00 ERA, one win, two saves, three hits, no runs, no walks and seven strikeouts . . . on the season, the senior right-hander is 8-4 with a 3.94 ERA and three saves . . . in 18 appearances (six starts), he has recorded 15 walks and 58 strikeouts in 64 innings.

Led LSU at the plate for the week, hitting .467 with two doubles and two home runs … Posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and .500 on base percentage for the week … Also added a team-best nine RBIs … Helped LSU earn the series win at South Carolina to earn the third seed in the SEC Tournament … Extended her hitting streak to nine games, tying the longest streak in her career and the longest current hitting streak on the team … Going 3-for-3 in the final game against South Carolina, she tied her career high for hits in a game … Had a pair of four-RBI games, both of which were season highs and one shy of her career high … Accounted for four of LSU’s five runs in LSU’s first win over South Carolina … Either scored or knocked in six of LSU’s nine runs in the Tigers’ last win over South Carolina … Was 2-for-4 in the first game against USC with a pair of extra-base hits … With two home runs on the week, moved into sole possession of third place in career home runs in LSU history … With two doubles on the week, moved into the top 10 in career doubles in LSU history … The nine RBIs put her in eighth place in career RBIs … Tied her career best with nine home runs this season …
