BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – LSU will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, for the annual Big 12/SEC Women’s Basketball Challenge in 2019, facing the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday, December 7. Games in the sixth-annual event will begin on Wednesday, December 4 and run through Sunday, December 8. Exact times and broadcast designations will be released when they become available.
Ten teams from the SEC will participate in the Challenge while every team from the Big 12 will take part. The format features five home games on campus sites for each conference per year. Teams will not face the same opponent twice.
The inaugural challenge in 2014 feature a four-team showdown in Little Rock, Arkansas, with the leagues splitting the two-game event. The 2015 version in Oklahoma City also saw each league claiming a win.
In 2016, the format moved to a 10-game, on-campus slate with the SEC edging the Big 12, 6-4. LSU defeated TCU, 67-61, in the Lady Tigers’ first appearance in the Challenge at the PMAC. The conferences have split the challenge, 5-5, the past two seasons.
