BATON ROUGE – After winning its fourth-straight match on Sunday at Arkansas, the LSU volleyball team (11-14, 6-8 SEC) will look to continue that momentum as the Tigers travel to No. 13 Florida (21-5, 12-2 SEC) on Friday.
First serve is set for 6 p.m. CT. The match will stream live on SEC Network+. The match will be available via live stats at LSUStats.com.
Series History with the Field
Florida owns the all-time series record, 44-14. The last time the Tigers defeated the Gators was on November 13, 2009, which was in Gainesville, taking down the Gators in four sets.
Team Notes
>> Head coach Fran Flory is in her 21st season at the helm of the LSU volleyball program. The winningest coach in school history, Flory has led the Tigers to NCAA Tournament appearances in nine of the last 13 seasons.
>> LSU picked up its third and fourth-straight victories last week with a five-set win over Ole Miss and a four-set win over Arkansas. Taylor Bannister led the Tigers with 34 total kills on the weekend, averaging 3.78 kills per set. It was a balanced attack in both matches as the Tigers had a total of five players in double-digit kills on the weekend.
>> Bannister is ranked fifth among the league in kills per set at 4.22. She is also fourth in points per set at 4.68.
>> In the last four matches, the Tigers are hitting .290 and getting 14.3 kills per set and 16.1 digs per set. Foreman is hitting .347 in the last three matches, while Beyer and Rodriguez is hitting at a .346 and .313 clip, respectively.
>> Lindsay Flory and Whitney Foreman both picked up SEC Weekly honors on on Nov. 5, the first honor for both the senior and freshman. Flory dished out 87 assists combined against Mississippi State and Alabama on the weekend, including a double-double of 53 assists and 15 digs in the win over Alabama. She helped her team to one of the best offensive weekends this season, hitting .352 for the weekend.
>> Foreman had her best weekend in a Tiger uniform against Alabama and Mississippi State, hitting .444 on the weekend. She hit .526 with 13 kills in the win over Alabama and had six blocks on the weekend.
>> Cianciulli has a career total of 951 digs, just 49 digs away from 1,000 mark. If she reaches 1,000 this season, she’ll be the fastest player to reach the 1,000 dig club in program history.
>> Cianciulli ranks second among the league in digs per set at 4.76. The Tigers also rank second in the SEC in digs per set at 15.48.
>> The Tigers enter the season with a total of 294 SEC victories. With the victory over Arkansas on Sunday, the Tigers reached 300, which is the third-most in the league behind Florida and Kentucky.
