HOOVER, Ala. – LSU senior Claudia De Antonio shot even par 72 in the first round of the 2018 SEC Women’s Golf Championship at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Hoover, Alabama.
The native of Venezuela shot 1-under on the back nine for the Lady Tigers and 1-over on the front nine as LSU started the day on Hole No. 10. She is in a five-way tie for seventh place going into Thursday’s second round action.
Junior Kathleen Gallagher and sophomore Monica Dibildox each shot 8-over for the round. Senior Sydney Cavin and rookie Mary Frances Chauvin rounded out the scoring at 9-over each.
No. 2 Alabama leads after the first round at 2-under, followed by No. 10 South Carolina at 3-over. No. 24 Vanderbilt is in third place at 7-over. LSU is in 13th place with a total of 313. The weather presented challenges with wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour during the day.
The second round will start at 8 a.m. CT with LSU teeing off from No. 10 at 9:10 a.m. CT with Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Live results are available at GolfStat.com.
