PALM CITY, Fl – The No. 12-ranked LSU men’s golf team is set to compete in Palm City, Florida at the Floridian Golf Club against a stacked field.

The Valspar Collegiate Championship will consist of 15 teams as part of the three-day, 54-hole tournament that runs through Tuesday. Action will begin Sunday at 8:30 a.m. EST with a shotgun start. The tournament will play as a par 71 at 7,114 yards.

The Tigers will begin this week riding a four tournament Top 5 streak. They finished tied for fourth at the Valspar last year.

The Field

LSU is the fourth-highest ranked team in a very strong field in this week’s Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.

Other top-25 teams in the field this week include No.1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 8 Georgia Tech, and No. 13 Texas, No. 18 UCLA, No. 19 Arkansas, No. 20 Florida State, No. 22 Wake Forest, No. 24 South Florida, while other teams include Houston, Memphis, Minnesota, North Texas, and South Carolina.

The Lineup

The Tigers lineup will consist of juniors Luis Gagne and Nathan Jeansonne, sophomore Philip Barbaree and freshmen Jacob Bergeron and Trey Winstead.

Barbaree will look to keep the ball rolling after coming off of the strongest finish of his career, while Luis Gagne looks to keep his solid play going with his team leading 71.23 scoring average.

Bergeron, Jeansonne, and Winstead look to get things going after the three all shot even par on the last day of the General Hackler.
