OXFORD, Miss. – The LSU men’s tennis team continues its road swing to open Southeastern Conference play against No. 30 Ole Miss at 1 p.m. CT Sunday in the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

Thoughts from the Co-Head Coach Chris Brandi
“We are looking forward to seeing how we bounce back from a tough match on the road,” co-head coach Chris Brandi said. “Ole Miss has a very seasoned team, is well-coached and has a great fan base. It’s definitely going to be a tough test for us.”
The Matchup
LSU holds the 47-17 advantage against Ole Miss. Last season, the Tigers eked out a 4-3 win against the Rebels at the LSU Tennis Complex. Gabor Csonka, Julian Saborio and Nikola Samardzic each earned wins in the contest. Csonka and Saborio defeated current Ole Miss players Tim Sandkaulen and Filip Kraljevic on courts two and five, respectively, to propel the Tigers to the win.
Tiger Tidbits
Last time out, the Tigers fell, 6-1, at Arkansas. LSU is looking to rebound after Csonka notched LSU’s lone point with a 6-2, 6-4 win on court two in Fayetteville.
The senior sits tied for second among the Tigers with 12 singles victories along with Samardzic. Rafael Wagner has a team-best 13-4 overall record.
On the doubles court, Csonka and Saborio did not finish their match in Fayetteville and have a 5-0 record on court one. Agie Moreno and Wagner suffered their first loss of the season at Arkansas on court two and have a 4-1 record.
Notes on the Rebels
The Rebels hold an 8-3 overall record and were swept, 7-0, by No. 7 Texas A&M Friday night in the Ole Miss Indoor Tennis Center to open conference action.
Sandkaulen is currently ranked No. 15 in the ITA singles poll. The sophomore holds a 15-5 record and is 5-2 this season on court two.
No. 31 Gustav Hansson plays court one for the Rebels. He owns eight total singles wins and a 5-4 record in the dual season.
Kraljevic is listed as No. 85 and has an 8-7 overall record. The junior is 1-4 in the dual season across the bottom three courts.
Ole Miss has three doubles pairs in the ITA rankings. Sandkaulen and Fabian Fallert are the 15th-ranked duo in the nation, Kraljeviv and Zvonimir Babic sit at No. 24 and Babic and Hansson are No. 41.
Sandkaulen and Fallert have dominated on court one this season with a 6-2 record. Babic and Hansson are the mainstays on court two and are off to a 5-2 start to the season.
