Hilton Head Island, S.C. – The LSU women’s golf team got off to a fiery start at the 2018 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Love Club today. The Lady Tigers sit in fourth place at 7-over par after the first round.
No. 3 Alabama leads the tournament at 2-over par by one shot over No. 12 Northwestern. No. 4 Arkansas is in third at 6-over par.
Senior Claudia De Antonio led the Lady Tigers to their fourth-place position after carding a career-low 4-under 67, which currently has her in second place. DeAntonio carded six birdies, including three-in-a-row at one point. Fellow senior Sydney Cavin had a solid day herself posting a 2-over par 73, playing the front nine at -1. Junior Kathleen Gallagher posted a 3-over par 74, while freshman Kendall Griffin rounded out the Lady Tigers with a score of 6-over par 77.
Lady Tigers’ second round will start at 9:20 E.T., as LSU will tee off with Furman and Mississippi State. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
