BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team (7-1, 5-0 SEC) moved to No.4 in the rankings after six weeks into the 2018 season, RoadtoNationals.com released Monday.
National rankings are based on a team’s overall season average for the first few weeks of the season before switching to the regional qualifying score (RQS).
LSU is ranked second on bars and floor and fourth on vault and beam.
Senior Myia Hambrick is the top performer in the nation on floor with an average score of 9.963. Hambrick was won every floor title this season and has posted scores of 9.975 the last three weeks to tie her career high.
LSU will have a busy weekend as the Tigers will travel to St. Louis, Missouri, to take on Arkansas, George Washington and Missouri on Friday. The squad will then return home to take on Texas Woman’s at 2:30 p.m. CT Sunday in the Maravich Center.
