No. 2 Gymnastics Travels to Fort Worth for Quad Meet

FORT WORTH, Texas – The second-ranked LSU gymnastics team will compete in one of the premier quad meets in the country at 6:45 p.m. CT Saturday in the Metroplex Challenge at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

The meet, which features No. 4 UCLA, No. 14 Washington and No. 28 NC State, will be the Tigers’ first chance to compete on podium. Flogymnastics.com will carry the meet live on its site. Fans must subscribe to the site to gain access to the video.

The quad meet will work similar to a home meet for the Tigers. The squad will begin on vault, followed by bars and beam, and then close the night on floor.

D-D Breaux Previews the Meet
“The Metroplex is a national meet that draws a great group of gymnasts,” head coach D-D Breaux said. “Texas has a lot of great athletes and coaches so we do a lot of recruiting there and like to compete there as much as possible. This meet is also on a podium so it gives us an opportunity to practice and compete in the same type of atmosphere as our postseason meets. It’s a great meet and an opportunity to see teams we don’t normally see.”
