BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis team jumped two spots to the No. 20-ranked team in the country according to the latest rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Wednesday.

After a pair of dominant sweeps against Northwestern St. and Southern to open the 2018 season, the Tigers (2-0) climbed in the rankings in advance of ITA Kickoff Weekend beginning on Saturday.

LSU is one of nine ranked SEC teams competing in arguably the toughest conference in collegiate tennis, as no other conference has more than five ranked teams.

The Tigers will travel to Durham, N.C. to compete against Washington on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT before facing off against either Fresno St. or No. 9 Duke on Sunday.
