TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – For the second consecutive race, freshman Eric Coston and junior Ersula Farrow led the Tigers and Lady Tigers this morning at Harry Pritchett RC. Coston finished the 8k in 36th place, recording a time of 25 minutes, 27.3 seconds. Farrow notched a time of 21:38.5 in the 6k, earning 42nd place.
The women’s team finished with 390 points as they recorded a 14th place team finish. The men’s team finished 16th with 397 points.
Following Farrow for the Lady Tigers were a pair of juniors in Hannah Bourque and Erika Lewis, whom both finished in the Top 80. Bourque and Lewis finished in 75th and 78th place with respective times of 22:07.9 and 22:09.3
A trio of freshmen followed Lewis in Kristin Delgado, Alicia Stamey and Isabella Hemb. Delgado finished in 116th place, recording a time of 22:45.60. Stamey and Hemb respectively finished in 131st and 180th place. Stamey notched a time of 22:53.10, and Hemb crossed at 23:30.50.
Upperclassmen Monica Guillot and Rebecca Little were the seventh and eighth Lady Tigers to finish. Guillot earned 190th place with a time of 23:46.50, and Little crossed the finish at 24:03.90, finishing in 208th.
Sophomore Amelie Whitehurst and freshman Heather Cizek rounded out the Lady Tigers’ efforts this morning. Whitehurst and Cizek finished in 232nd and 251st place, recording times of 24:45.90 and 25:29.00 respectively.
On the men’s side, sophomore Harrison Martingayle followed Coston as the second Tiger to finish. Martingayle recorded a Top 50 finish, recording a time of 25:33.30.
Seniors DC Lipani, Daniel Tanner and Jack Wilkes were the third, fourth and fifth respective finishers for the men’s team. Lipani finished in 101st place with a time of 26:19.60. Tanner and Wilkes earned 106th and 181st place respectively. Tanner recorded a time of 26:25.10, and Wilkes crossed at 27:46.00.
Sophomore Josef Schuster and senior Bryan Stamey closed out the race for the Tigers, earning 183rd and 185th place respectively. Schuster notched a time of 27:47.30, and Stamey recorded a time of 27:52.00.
After a week off, the Tigers and Lady Tigers will return to action in the SEC Championships in Athens, Georgia. The meet will be held at the UGA Golf Course on Friday, October 27.
